The Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) at the Temple of Israel is committed to providing the highest quality early childhood education program. We are the only preschool of its kind in the Upstate of South Carolina. Great emphasis is placed on the quality of the interaction between staff and children and the developmental appropriateness of the curriculum. The ECEC welcomes children of all faiths.
                                                                                   

Program Options  
  • Open to children age 6 weeks through age 5
  • 2, 3 and 5 day schedules
  • Half day/Full day/Extended hours
  • Preschool program - 9:00am - 1:00pm
  • Full day - 8:00am - 5:00pm
School Philosophy and Curriculum  
ECEC is dedicated to the growth and development of young children in a Jewish environment. Our preschool program is designed to encourage each child to develop his/her potential within a warm, supportive, and stimulating environment.

Candi Porter-Wilson is our ECEC Director. Candi has extensive Early Childhood Education knowledge and over 20 years of experience in teaching, preschool administration and training.  She has a proven track record of commitment to the quality of care for children and we are thrilled to have her as part of the ECEC and Temple staff.  Candi lives in Liberty with her husband, Leaf, and they have fraternal twin daughters, Maya and Emma, who are 21 years old.  She also loves horses, reading and going to the ocean. Please stop by the ECEC office and meet Candi!
