Welcome

Welcome to the Temple of Israel!

Dear Friends,

I am pleased that you are considering membership in the Temple of Israel. Our Temple has much to offer and we are proud of our congregational family and facility.

Temple of Israel is conveniently located off Haywood Road and you are welcome to join us at Shabbat services any Friday night to meet Rabbi Jeremy Master and some of our congregants. An Oneg Shabbat follows services which begin at 7 pm.

Our religious school offers a program of instruction beginning in preschool continuing through Bar/Bat Mitzvah and Confirmation (10th grade). The Temple also provides numerous activities for adults of all ages including Small Groups (common interest groups), Sisterhood, Music on Sunday concert series, Men’s Club Breakfast (BABS), Adult Education, Youth Group, and a basketball program for men, as well as for youth.

The highlight of our year is ShalomFest, the annual Jewish food and cultural festival held at the Temple each spring. ShalomFest is an opportunity for our congregation to both enjoy a social event and showcase our facility, our congregants and Reform Judaism to the wider Greenville area community.

Temple of Israel is the largest and most active congregation in the Upstate and whether you are looking for a place to worship, learn, or come together socially, I hope that you will become part of our family.

Please feel free to contact me directly. I welcome you and look forward to your visit!

Best Regards,

Barbara Berger

Join Our Family

One of the most important gifts we can give ourselves and our children is the knowledge and comfort that we are not alone. Through worship, study and tikkun olam, we affirm our support for each other. This participation and commitment, above all things, has sustained our Jewish heritage for almost 6,000 years.

In true family tradition we envision full participation by every member, where each person can discover a meaningful role. At the same time, we recognize that Judiasm is not "one size fits all". Given the diversity of our members of various backgrounds and interests, we seek to offer an array of modes of worship, education and activities for each member.

There are many paths to community at Chai. Congregants can choose from a wide range of groups and activities, including: youth groups, Chai young adults, Havurot and Journey Groups, Men's Club and Sisterhood, as well as synagogue-wide concerts and cultural activities.

Est Lorem ipsum redditium definitionem Aristotelis "inter" quae in H & G;
