Our Sisterhood is an affiliate of the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ).
WRJ provides scholarships to rabbinic, cantorial and education students.
WRJ is the founder of the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY).
WRJ produced the groundbreaking book, The Torah: A Women’s Commentary, bringing it from vision to reality in partnership with URJ Books and Music.
 
Women of Reform Judaism, an affiliate of the Union for Reform Judaism, has been the collective voice and presence of women in congregational life since 1913. Comprised of 65,000 women in over 500 sisterhoods, WRJ is dedicated to supporting the ideals and enhancing the quality of Jewish living to ensure the future of progressive Judaism in North America, Israel, and around the world.

Sisterhood Hanukkah Party and Benefit for the Homeless Period Project

Sunday, December 10;RSVP by December 5
Time: 4:30 pm at the Temple
Please RSVP by 12/5 
Enjoy afternoon tea and a presentation about various olive oils.  
Instead of a gift exchange, please be altruistic in giving to the HPP.
The Homeless Period Project (HPP) is a non-profit organization that distributes menstrual hygiene products to over 100 locations in South Carolina, including shelters, food banks, schools, and free medical clinics.
Bring menstrual hygiene products (pads, tampons, liners, and individually wrapped feminine hygiene wipes) and quart-sized Ziploc bags and we'll pack them into Period Packs for the HPP!

 What does Sisterhood Do?

For our congregation:

  • Sponsorship of ShalomFest
  • Organize an annual Sisterhood Shabbat led entirely by our members
  • Operate our beautiful Judaica Shop
  • Manage our Temple library
  • Organize the Onegs for our congregational year
  • Equip and supply both kitchens
  • Manage our Birthday/Anniversary Club
  • Send flowers and cards to our members who are hospitalized
  • Send care packages to our college students several times a year
  • Provide monies for the maintenance of the Temple
  • Sponsor and organize the congregation's annual Hanukkah Latke Party
  • Send gifts for new babies born to Temple members 
  • Available to support our Temple when there is an unbudgeted need that we can meet.
